Balance is the key, so show me the lock

Balance is the key I'm just sitting at my desk at work, thinking about all the great stuff I've been learning. It's been a really challenging year so far. Trying to balance everything is by far the hardest part. Work, School and trying to have a life are all parts of the equation. And as I've learned are all of equal importance. Maybe that's not news to most people, but it's always a good reminder. Here's my latest animation. This pass is my blocking pass, which means it still needs a lot of work, but at least you can see how I'm setting things up. With AM we have to do several pass on each assignment before we get to the final or polishing pass. With the program they really drill into you how to understand and create your own workflow. Sneak Shot / Blocking

So this is my first practice shot this term. Since I decided to take this term off to study and practice i made a little syllabus for myself. Part of my plan is to do three simple body mechanics shots. This is the blocking on the first. An old fashion Hollywood Sneak. Although I prefer to call it a Shaggy Sneak, since I'm sure Shaggy did this every episode of Scooby Doo. All feedback is welcomed.

Animation Mentor

Well I've been accepted into Animation Mentor (www.animationmentor.com) for the Winter 09 session. I can't wait to get started. Animation Mentor is an online Animation school located in California. What makes this program so amazing is that they focus solely on character animation and only character animation. After looking at a number of schools and other programs such as VFS and Full-Sail I decided to apply to AM because of the quality of the faculty and because it was something I could do while I continued to work at my current job. Anyhow, like many of my classmates I will be keeping a blog of my activities and since I already have this one I figured why start from scratch. I'll keep you posted.
